Heavy rain forecast in Nainital; administration issues alert

In Uttarakhand, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain for the next 4 days. In such a situation, the District Magistrates of every district are supervising the relief and rescue operations at their level. In view of the possibility of heavy rains in Nainital district, DM Dhiraj Singh Garbyal directed all the officers and employees to remain alert for 24 hours. DM Garbyal said that the landslide sites have been identified in Nainital district. People are being appealed to leave the house only after seeing the weather forecast. There have been many tragic incidents due to landslides. Apart from this, 31 JCBs have been deployed in the entire Nainital district in view of the possibility of landslides. In view of the rising water level of the Gaula river, the officials of the Irrigation Department have been directed to keep an eye on the water level of the river.

The Meteorological Department has once again issued an orange alert in many districts of Uttarakhand for today. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in 7 districts of Uttarakhand. This means that the next 24 hours are going to prove difficult for these districts: Bageshwar, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Pauri Garhwal, Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Tehri. Orange alert has been issued today regarding heavy rains in these districts. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in these districts today.
