Total cost of project estimated to be in excess of Rs 11000 crore
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has undertaken preparation of Detailed Project Report(DPR)for up-gradation to 2-lane with paved shoulder of National Highways to provide connectivity to Chardham from Rishikesh leading to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath including Tanakpur-Pithoragarh Section with an estimated Project cost of Rs. 11700 Crore and targeted for completion by 2020. Some of the New Alignments/Bypasses/Tunnels/Viaducts are proposed to avoid landslide prone areas, sinking zones etc. to improve the safety of road users.
