Uttarakhand Congress edges out BJP in popularity on Facebook

With the assembly elections just around the corner, the Uttarakhand Congress achieved a significant landmark of over 3 lakh likes on its Facebook page overtaking its rival BJP to become the most popular party in the state on Facebook. At the time of writing BJP had just under 3 lakh users associated with it while AAP was lagging behind with under 2.5 lakh users.

If we talk about the social media platform Facebook itself, then in the last three months, there has been a lot of activity in the Facebook campaign of the Congress party. At the same time, within the last 1 month, the Congress has reached 60 lakh people on Facebook.

Seeing the strengthening of the Congress’s grip among the people of Uttarakhand, it is natural for the BJP to make a counter move, due to which the BJP is now using various tactics to gain an edge over its biggest rival Congress. Whose old movie clips, giving political twist in trending videos, is being much liked and talked about on social media.

Some time ago a campaign run by the Congress party on social media “BJP ke bus mein nahi” became so famous that the BJP was left searching for answers. At the same time, the social media team of Congress has decided that in this assembly elections only the basic issues of Uttarakhand should be talked about and not on other issues.
