Chardham Yatra visitors numbers go up as weather clears

With the opening of the weather, the Char Dham Yatra has started gaining momentum. Amidst the pleasant weather, crowds of pilgrims are gathering in Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham. A total of 9247 devotees were sent to Dham from Sonprayag till 12 noon. Good movement was seen throughout the day in the Dhams.

Devotees started queuing up at Sonprayag from 3 o’clock on Thursday to go to Kedarnath. The first batch of devotees was sent for Dham at 6 in the morning. Sector Magistrate Arun Rana, posted here, told that the devotees are being sent keeping in mind the weather conditions in Kedarnath Dham. About six thousand travelers are staying from Guptkashi to Gaurikund for the night stay.

1795 people from Sonprayag to Kedarnath were examined and treated by the Health Department. During this, oxygen was also made available to 34 people. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Harish Chandra Martolia said that a total of 21614 people have been examined and treated since the commencement of the yatra.

On the other hand, the number of devotees in Badrinath Dham has crossed 1.5 lakh. As soon as the doors of Badrinath Dham opened on May 27, the process of rain and snowfall started. The effect of bad weather was also visible on the journey. Leaving aside the day of opening of the doors, the number of pilgrims visiting the Dham was around 10,000 per day. More than 12 thousand devotees visited Badrinath Dham on Wednesday and Thursday.
