Night curfew imposed in Uttarakhand amidst rising threat of Omicron variant

The government has implemented night curfew in Uttarakhand amid the increase in new variants of Corona ‘Omicron’ cases. Strict instructions have been given to the district administration and the police to implement the night curfew in an in-charge manner. Night curfew will be applicable across the state from 11 pm to 5 am.

Most services will remain open during night curfew. However, those coming out of private vehicles will be allowed to travel only in case of emergency on production of valid ID cards. According to the order issued by the Chief Secretary, the system of Night Curfew has started from Monday night itself. During this, other essential services including hospitals, industries, storage, petrol pumps will remain open. Employees associated with these will also be allowed to move on the basis of I-card.

Allopathy hospitals as well as AYUSH hospitals will be allowed to remain open during the night curfew. Transport corporation buses will be allowed to operate in the state and outside the state as per the SOP issued earlier by the transport corporation. Passenger vehicles like taxis, auto rickshaws etc. will be allowed to travel on ticket basis from airport, railway station and bus station, these vehicles will be allowed to ply at night.

These services will remain open:

-All types of health services

– Permission for all health workers to move about

– Production, distribution and transportation of oil and gas

– Petrol pumps, LPG outlets will be able to remain open

– electricity generation, distribution, movement of workers,

– Postal services

-Internet, telecommunication and broadcasting services,

– cold storage and warehouse,

– Permission for movement and load, upload of goods carrier vehicles

– employees of print and electronic media, movement of vehicles
