6 members of Indian navy mountaineering team reported missing in Uttarakhand avalanche
There has been an avalanche reported in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. The mountaineering team of the Navy has come under its grip. According to the information, a 20-member Navy team was climbing Mount Trishul. At around 5.30 am on Friday morning, five crew members and a porter accompanying them were hit by an avalanche.
All 6 people are missing since this incident. Navy and administration started their search, but till now they have not been traced. Relief-rescue team from Nehru Mountaineering Institute has also been sent to Mount Trishul.
It is being told that this accident happened while going for the summit from Camp 3. The Indian Navy mountaineering team, which went to the Trishuli mountain to trek at an altitude of about 6700 meters, has become a victim of the accident. Help was sought from NIM around 11 am.
A 20-member expedition team had left Mumbai on September 3 for the 7,120-metre-high peak in the western Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. A Navy spokesperson said that the Indian Army, Air Force and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are trying to trace the rest of the climbers.
