Uttarakhand weather: Sowfall in the hills, cloud cover in plains

The weather is changed in Uttarakhand today after bright sunshine in most parts of the state yesterday. There are chances of rain from the mountain to the ground since morning. There, there was snowfall on higher regions including like Yamunotri in the early hours. While the low lying areas including Doon valley had overcast conditions. Due to cold winds blowing in Mussoorie, the cold has returned again.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain and hailstorm in the mountainous and plain areas. Meteorological director Bikram Singh said that there is a possibility of snowfall on the higher peaks and rain and hailstorm in the lower areas. Light to moderate rain may also occur over the plains. The temperature may drop due to rain.

Intermittent snowfall in Badrinath-Kedarnath

Due to the indifference of the weather, timely completion of the Chardham Yatra arrangements has also remained a challenge for the administration. In Kedarnath too, it has been snowing intermittently for the past many days. Light snowfall continued in Kedarnath on Monday. Snow clearing work on the footpath was widely affected due to inclement weather. On the other hand, there was snowfall in the high altitude areas including Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib.
