The pattern of BEd is going to change once more. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has issued a public notice in this regards.
BEd four-year integrated course has been done on the lines of LLB and MBA across the country. In which the students will be able to get admission directly after 12th standard. Due to this change in the study of BEd, NCTE has not accepted any applications in the 2019-20 session regarding the recognition of the new BEd Colleges.
For the last two years, NCET has not approved any new BEd College application across the country including Uttarakhand. Now those BEd colleges operating in the states will be upgraded.
Not only this, the completion of BEd’s studies in two years will now be completed in four years. However, this will be an integrated course. Students will be able to enter courses like BA-BEd, BSc-BEd and BCom-BEd after the 12th standard. Like a second course, they will be studying BEd for four years.
About 80 BEd colleges in Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand, at present there are 27 colleges under Shri Dev Suman University, 40 under the Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University and around 12 colleges under Government Universities. In which two-year BEd courses are going on.
