Indian Airforce conducts operation ‘Gagan Shakti’ near China border in Uttarakhand

The Indian Air Force’s operation ‘Gagan Shakti’ has started near the China border in Uttarakhand. Under this, air helicopters flew several times to the Nellong valley on the border. Para Commandos practiced the helicopter landing with ropes.

This exercise, which started from April 8 in the country, will continue until April 22. Under this, Chinyalisaur, located in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, is practicing area of the air force. On Tuesday morning, at six o’clock sky helicopter and cargo aircraft AN-32 flew towards the region. This is the first time that the Air Force is conducting such exercises near the China border in Uttarakhand at such a large level.
According to sources, a cargo aircraft AN-32 and eight MI-17 helicopters are being used in practice. From morning till noon, helicopters filled 16 flights to Materi, Harshil, Bagori and Nelong. During this period, 30 jawans of Para Commandos used to take the helicopter to Chinyalisaur through ropes.
Apart from this, the three personnel of NN-32 also carried out the loading and carrying out of the aircraft. Uttarkashi’s Additional Collector PL Shah said that for the practice, the administration has provided all the facilities to the IAF, which were demanded. He told that the series can continue till April 20.
