From villages to towns in Uttarakhand’s Bageshwar district was without electricity for the last 16 hours. Power operated instruments became showpiece. Fault in Almora line has not been found as yet. So, after 16 hours in many areas, supply has not been smooth.
Rains and storms wreaked havoc on the electricity department’s wires. Power went out at seven o’clock last evening. People had to spend the night in the dark. There was darkness in the city too. Electricity is being lost in tehsils like Garuda, Kanda, Kapkot, Kaafliagar, Dug Nakuri, Shama etc. The small and medium industries can not operate. Locals told that they are not able to do all the work due to lack of electricity. Dough mill, paddy harvesting machine, fridge, water pumping plans were stalled. They have pledged to restore the supply at the earliest. The officials of the power department told that after 12 o’clock the Someshwar line was repaired.
