MeT department issues storm warning in Uttarakhand between 5th to 7th May

The Meteorological Department issued a  warning of heavy storm and rain in several states of India including Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning on Friday and said that there could be severe storms and strong rains between May 5 and 7.

Hurricanes alert issued for these areas-

5 May 2018: According to the Meteorological Department, there may be strong winds in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand with thunderstorms. Apart from this, there is a possibility of a heavy thunderstorm and heavy rain in eastern parts of the country like West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha and Kerala.

7 May 2018: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy thunderstorm, lightning storm in parts of Uttarakhand and parts of Punjab. Big storms are expected in some parts of the country’s northeast states.

Apart from this, there is possibility of rains with dusty storm and thundershowers in western Rajasthan, western Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Chandigarh. In Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana, there is a possibility of a sharp thunderstorm along with in some areas. There may be severe rain in Assam and Meghalaya on May 7.
