Uttarakhand health min gives instructions to prepare the system for giving degrees to medical students from Digi Locker

Uttarakhand Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that on the lines of higher education, now MBBS students in state medical colleges will get degrees and other educational certificates through Digi Locker.

In this regard, he has instructed the Uttarakhand Medical Education University to prepare a system for Digi Locker at the earliest. Apart from this, all the hospitals and health centers of the state will be seen in one colour. For this, the departmental officers have been asked to decide the color code. Along with this, a proposal to create a separate cadre of specialist doctors will be brought in the cabinet soon.

Health Minister Dr. Rawat took a departmental review meeting at the government residence in Yamuna Colony. In the meeting, he said that the educational certificates of medical students will be available on Digi Locker, so that medical students can download their degrees and other educational certificates at any time.

He said that government medical colleges and nursing colleges will be linked to the e-Granthalaya portal while digitizing medical education, so that medical students do not have to face the shortage of books. Apart from course books, research papers will also be available online to the students on the e-Granthalaya portal.

Along with this, students will also get an opportunity to connect with the libraries of medical colleges and universities in the country and abroad. He instructed to select land for opening four new nursing colleges in the state and to speed up the ongoing construction works in medical colleges.

The Health Minister said that a color code will be implemented in government hospitals, so that uniformity can be seen in all the medical units. The rate of patient registration fee will be made uniform in hospitals and medical colleges. A proposal for this will be prepared soon and sent to the government.

In the meeting, instructions were given for speedy completion of year-wise recruitment process of nursing staff, filling of vacant posts in districts under NHM, adjustment of personnel returned from government medical colleges to health department, completion of land selection and construction work for critical units.
