UGC-NET exam postponed till September 24

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the UGC NET exam starting on September 16. The NTA has said that now the NET exam will begin on September 24. At present, the NTA has not released a detailed examination schedule. Before this the NET exam was to be held from 16 to 18 September and from 21 to 25 September.

NTA says that the dates of NET exam were same day of ICAR examinations AIEEA-UG / PG and AICE-JRF / SRF (PhD) 2020-21 examinations. Due to this, many students who have applied for both exams as well as NET exam have been rescheduled in view of this, detailed revised time table will be released later.

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test i.e. UGC NET is a computer based examination or online exam. This exam takes place twice a year.

Earlier this examination was conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). After December 2018, the Ministry of Human Resource Development has given the job of National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct the exams. Till then, CBSE used to conduct examination for 81 subjects in 263 selected cities.

If we talk about syllabus, then there used to be three papers in the exam, which has now been reduced to two. The first paper is of 1 hour and the second paper is of 2 hours. The exam is conducted in two shifts for several days.

Senior Director of NTA Sadhana Parashar said, “The National Testing Agency will conduct ICAR examinations on September 16, 17, 22 and 23. In view of this, it has been decided to conduct UGC-NET 2020 exam from September 24. He said that some candidates had to take both exams, in which case they requested that the date of examination be changed.
