Doonites to form 50 km long human chain against plastic use on November 5

A human chain will be made on 5 November to make Dehradun plastic-free. It will be 50 km long, in which more than one lakh people will participate. This was stated by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat while flagging off a public awareness rally of the Secretariat officials for a polythene-free Green Doon.

The Chief Minister said that public awareness is necessary for polyethylene liberation and environmental protection. The public walk by the Secretariat officials and staff for public awareness for polythene-free Green Doon will have meaningful results in its future. He said that “all of us will have to ensure our participation in the call made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the countrymen for single use plastic-free India”.

The Chief Minister said that on the occasion of Harela festival on July 16, 2020, plantation will be made in the entire state on the same day. At the same time, it is our effort to plant saplings in the entire state in just one hour on every Harela festival. He said that mass awareness is needed for environmental protection and sanitation campaign. For this, there should be a five-minute address on hygiene and polythene discharge in schools every week.

Dehradun Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama said that the Municipal Corporation is carrying out mass awareness campaign to carry out plastic from Dehradun. As a result, the use of plastic has decreased by 50 to 60 percent. He said that Dehradun will be made completely plastic free with public support.

Traffic to be diverted in Dehradun on November 5

If you are making plans in Doon city between 8 am and 1 pm on Tuesday, then definitely check the traffic plan. Ignoring the plan can not only waste your fuel but also your time. In fact, from 8 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, traffic on many routes in the city will not only be affected, but some routes will also be zero-zone. This is due to the 50-km human chain being built by the municipal corporation to ban the polythene and plastic in the city.

Human chain will be built on these roads

– From Mianwala Chowk on Haridwar highway to Mohkampur, Rispna Bridge, Dharampur, Araghar, EC Road, Behl Chowk, Rajpur Road, Mussoorie diversion.

-Behl Chowk to Rajpur Road, Ghantaghar to Chakrata Road, Ballupur Chowk, GMS Road, Balliwala, Kamla Palace, Niranjanpur Mandi, Patel Nagar Lalpul, Saharanpur Chowk, Adhat Bazar, Prince Chowk, Tehsil Chowk to Darshan Lal Chowk-Budh Chowk Corporation Campus.

This will be the parking plan

Zone-1: Vehicles of participants in the human chain from Mianwala Chowk to Rajeshwari Nursery Gate Jogiwala will be parked at the IIP campus and Kailash Hospital.

Zone-Two: Vehicles of people participating in the human chain from Vivekananda School Jogiwala to Dharampur Chowk will be parked in the vacant grounds near the assembly trijunction and the Orchid Wedding Point near the Snow Palace and the Bata showroom near Mothrowala Cut.

Zone-three: The vehicles of participants participating in human chain from Laxminarayan Mandir Dharampur to Naini Bazar will be parked in Race Course One Side Parking and Parade Ground.

Zone-Four: Vehicles coming  from Behl Chowk to Shiv Mandir Gate Rajpur Road will be parked at Secretariat Parking, RTO Complex and NIVH Campus.

Zone-Five: Goyal Plaza / Punjab Grill Vehicles from Rajpur Road to Sai Tower will be parked in the empty ground in front of the Ashiana and Old Rajpur Road One-Side Parking from Mussoorie diversion in front of the Ashiana.

Zone-Five / Six: Vehicles carrying participants in human chain from Behl Chowk to Ghantaghar will stand in the vacant ground and parade ground near the Secretariat.

Zone-six: Vehicles of participants in the human chain from Ghantaghar to Ballupur Chowk will be parked in the Kaulagarh Chowk one-side parking from ONGC campus and Synergy Hospital in addition to the empty ground in front of Doon School.

Zone-Seven: Vehicles of people from Wadia Institute to Kamla Palace, Niranjanpur Sabzi Mandi will be parked in the Wadia Institute campus, Hotel Saffron Leaf parking and vacant grounds near Kamla Palace and Niranjanpur vegetable market campus.
