Djokovic defeats Federer in straight sets to win Cincinnati Masters 1000

Serbia’s tennis star Novak Djokovic has won the title of Cincinnati Open. Along with this, he has created history. He has expressed his happiness by tweeting, ‘The dream has come true’. Djokovic has become the first tennis player to win all the nine Masters -1000 tournaments since 1990. World number-10 Djokovic won the titleby defeating World No. 2 Roger Federer in the men’s singles final 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets. Federer is a seven-time champion at the tournament and lost the final for the first time.

Prior to this, Djokovic had to face defeat at the hands of Federer three times in the same tournament. This is Djokovic’s big win against Federer. His record is 3-1 in the Grand Slam final against Federer and 12-6 in the overall championship matches, including the 2015 Wimbledon and the US Open. With this win Djokovic also cemented his place as a title favorite at the US Open.
