Bageshwar’s Pankaj wins shooting gold in State Olympic competition

In the fourth state Olympic competition held in Rudrapur, Pankaj Kalakoti of Bageshwar got gold medal in the shooting competition. BJP state president Ajay Bhatt honored Pankaj.
Pankaj Kalakoti, a resident of Kakrat in Bageshwar district, maintained his dominance in the shooting competition. In the 10 meter air pistol event, he secured first place by getting 388 out of 400. Amit Kumar got 377 and Ayush Sati got 373 points winning silver and bronze medals respectively. Sepoy Pankaj of two Naga Infantry battalion from Kumaon Regiment, has also won many medals in national and state level competition in the past.

Pankaj Kalakoti, a resident of Bageshwar, has given credit to this success to Colonel Bhupendra Singh, Command Officer of two Naga battalions, including his mother Vimla Kalakoti & Father Trilok Singh Kalakoti. Pankaj said that his goal was to participate in the Olympics for India. Various sports organizations have expressed happiness on this achievement of Pankaj.
