UOU centers to open in all government degree colleges

In a good news for students who aspire to get higher education in the remote areas of the state, Study centers of Uttarakhand Open University will be opened in all the state colleges. In the first phase, study centers have been set up in Halduchaur, Gopeshwar and New Tehri colleges.
102 state colleges are operating in the state. Of these, the study centers are running in only 60 colleges of Uttarakhand Open University. Apart from this, there are five non-government colleges and 29 private study centers.

A total of 94 study centers of the Open University are operating. Due to the strictness of the UGC, 155 study centers that did not meet the standards had to be shut down in the past. Now in the new session 2019-20, the university has decided to open a study center in all the government colleges in the first phase.

Approval of the board will be required

The meeting of the University Board on June 3 is considered to be important in many ways. Which courses and how many study centers will be conducted in the new session starting from 1st July will be approved by the Board.

In this meeting Prof. BS Bisht, former Vice Chancellor of Pant Nagar University as a member of the Board of Excellence. Prof. DP Saklani of HNB Garhwal University, Prof. BM Kumar from Pantnagar University, the Director, Professors of all departments of the Open university will participate. Vice Chancellor Prof. OPĀ  Negi will preside over the meeting.
Leter have been written to the principals of colleges where there are no study centers. The letter has been sent by the Higher Education Director so that the students can get admission in the new session.
