Djokovic takes Serbia to finals of ATP Cup

World No.2 male tennis player Novak Djokovic of Serbia took his country to the final of the inaugural ATP Cup to be held on Saturday. Djokovic defeated Russia’s Daniil Medvedev 6–1, 5–7, 6–4 to lead the team to the final.

In a thrilling match, Djokovic won 64 percent in the first set against Medvedev in the first service return. While Medvedev broke Djokovic’s service three times in the second round and won the set 5-7 and made the game in the third round.

In the third round, Medvedev was in a strong position till the fifth game. But Djokovic won the set and led Serbia to the final.

After the match, Djokovic said, “It was an exciting, tiring, joyous but dangerous match. At one time we both refused to miss the baseline. So many rallies were seen, it was very tiring. This mental fight was more of a battle with less physical ability. “
