Tourist rush chokes traffic in Mussoorie

On Saturday morning, the weather of the mountains of Mussoorie took a sudden turn and it started to rain. Shortly afterwards, Mussoorie was covered a sheet of white snow. Due to this, a large number of tourists arrived on Sunday. Due to this there was a long traffic jam. In view of the crowd in Mussoorie, the police has stopped the movement of traffic towards Mussoorie ahead of Kuthalgate. Tourists are stuck on many connectivity routes including Dhanaulti road, Kamptee road. There is also a lot of frost in the night. This has also led to slippery  roads on the way.

Many tourists turned to Mussoorie to witness the first snowfall of the new year. From morning, tourists from Doon, Delhi, Meerut etc. caught the road to Mussoorie. A large number of vehicles railed at many places on the Mussoorie road leading to a jam, but police arrangements did not cause much trouble to the tourists. On Sunday, there was so much crowd there that the situation became uncontrollable. The snow is also melting due to the bright sunshine in the morning since morning. Due to which there is a lot of problem in the movement of vehicles there. Snowfall in Mussoorie was more than expected. Immediately the Municipality and PWD employees were called on duty. Equipped with equipments, the snow was removed and opened for traffic. However, most of the vehicles were instructed to stop outside Mussoorie city.
