Guidelines issued for reopening of schools from class 1 to 5 in Uttarakhand

At present, in view of the reduction in the spread of Covid infection at the state and national level, it has been decided at the government level that offline education should be started in schools even at the primary level. In all the primary schools operating in the state, the physical reading of classes from class 1 to 5 will be held from September 21, 2021 (Tuesday).

Below are the guidelines issued

  • Before the opening of the school, all the classrooms, libraries, toilets, drinking water, kitchen-cum-stores etc. such places where physical movement of students and students take place, they should be sanitized properly. Arrangements for sanitizer, handwash, thermal scanning and first aid should be ensured in schools and students should be admitted to the school only after hand sanitizing/thermal scanning. The availability of antiseptic liquid handwash should also be ensured in the washrooms of the schools, keeping the drinking water area of ​​the children in educational institutions very clean, special care should be taken on the quality of water. Keep in mind that students should not gather together at such places. Class wise intervals can be planned for this.
  • In view of the infection of Covid-19 in each school, a nodal officer should be nominated by the concerned school, who will be responsible for compliance with the guidelines related to social distancing and Covid protocol. If a situation of infection arises among the students, teachers and other staff of the school, then it will be the responsibility of the concerned headmaster and nodal officer to inform the district administration / health department in time. If any student or teacher or other personnel shows symptoms of cough, cold or fever, they should be sent back home after giving first aid.
  • It will be the personal responsibility of the Chief Education Officer of each district that they will ensure such a system under their district, so that the information about the Covid infection found in any educational institution can be made available to the District Administration / Health Department immediately. And compliance of Covid protocol should be ensured in the concerned educational institution. In this regard, the SOP issued by the Health and Disaster Management Department from time to time should also be followed. In all educational institutions, physically teaching work should be done in two shifts keeping in view the Covid protocol.
  • With the consent of the parents of the students, they should be allowed to be physically present in the school, for this, the consent letter of the parents to the school management within three days of the students attending the school is required. A flexible approach should be adopted for attendance in the school and no student should be forced to come to the school.
  • Schools will be operated in hybrid mode, that means, along with physical education, the system of online teaching will be ensured, during the teaching work, teachers will broadcast the classroom teaching work online live from mobile or other devices, So that such students who are not able to attend the school physically, they can join the class teaching by staying at home.
  • It should be ensured that all the teachers, staff and all the students should be allowed to enter the school/classroom only after wearing a mask. All the teachers, staff and students shall use the mask properly during the school period and while coming from home to school and going home from school. The meeting arrangement in the class room should be ensured under social distancing.
  • In order to ensure compliance of social distancing at the main gate at the time of admission and leave in the school, time interval should be fixed for different classes and all classes should not be left at the same time. In such educational institutions, where students come to school using public transport, arrangements should be ensured to make their public transport with social distancing and sanitize public transport from time to time.
  • Along with the physical education of classes from class 1 to 5, the system of online teaching should be continued as is. For students who cannot attend school for offline education or parents do not want to send their wards, teachers can schedule online reading lessons.
