Police make arrests in Almora village mob lynching case

Four more accused have been arrested in the mob lynching case of a youth in Almora district. One of them confessed his crime and surrendered, while the three accused were arrested by the police. The other two minors have also been identified by the police and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. Action has been taken against a total of 11 accused in the case.

SSP Pankaj Bhatt has also assured to arrest other accused soon. As per reports a 19 year old and his two friends, residents of Village Rubal, had gone to a village in Danya police station area. The villagers had beaten the main accused and his friend for allegedly molesting a teenager from the village, while their third friend manage to flee. A case was filed against the trio under the POCSO Act at the behest of the girl’s father. The main accused youth later succumbed to his injuries.
