MBBS studies in Hindi in state medical colleges from this session

From the academic session 2023-24, MBBS education will also be started through Hindi medium in state medical colleges of Uttarakhand. This will make it easier for students who have completed their schooling from Hindi medium to study medicine. On Thursday, Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat met Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and invited him to start Hindi course. The minister also urged for Bhoomi Pujan of AIIMS Satellite Center at Kichha in Udham Singh Nagar district.

Dr. Rawat met the Union Health Minister and discussed the health facilities and future plans of Uttarakhand. He said, a satellite center of AIIMS Rishikesh is to be set up at Kichha in Udham Singh Nagar district. With the establishment of this center, the people of the entire Kumaon division will get health facilities on the lines of AIIMS. From the academic session 2023-24, MBBS will be taught in the medical colleges of the state through English as well as Hindi medium.

Dr. Rawat said, like Madhya Pradesh, medical education in Uttarakhand will be in Hindi medium along with English. For this, the Medical Education Department has completed all its preparations. To prepare the medical syllabus in Hindi, the department constituted a special committee consisting of expert doctors of government medical colleges.

After studying the Hindi syllabus of MBBS implemented in Madhya Pradesh, this committee has prepared Hindi syllabus for medical colleges of the state and handed it over to Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Medical Education University. The university has also completed the formalities of implementing the Hindi medium curriculum.
