Uttarakhand government to seek Central University status for GB Pant University

The Uttarakhand cabinet on Friday approved a proposal for grant of Central University status to Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. The state government will send this proposal to the central government. To determine the assets of the University, the Cabinet has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu. A cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Legislature Building. According to sources, 10 proposals were discussed and decided in the cabinet meeting.

Big agency will do the work of reconstruction of Badrinath and Kedarnath

For speedy completion of Badrinath and Kedarnath reconstruction works, the state government will entrust the responsibility to a bigger agency. The proposal was approved in the state cabinet meeting.

Dual accounting system to be implemented in all local bodies

Dual accounting system will be implemented in all the Municipal Corporations, Nagar Palika Parishads and Nagar Panchayats of the state. The cabinet approved the proposal. For this amendment will be made in Uttarakhand Manual Accounting.

Crushers will get the right to self-assessment

The cabinet has approved the proposal for simplification of mining policy. Under the mining policy, stone and other crushers currently operating in the state will get the right to self-assessment. That is, the operators will self-evaluate the crushers. They will not have to submit their report to the government. Instead, they will send the proposal to the Director Geology and Mining Unit.
