Colonel (retd) Ajay Kothiyal, who was the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) chief ministerial candidate in the Uttarakhand Assembly elections, on Tuesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He joined BJP in the presence of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and senior leader Madan Kaushik. He had recently resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party.

After Colonel Ajay Kothiyal and former working president Bhupesh Upadhyay, more than three hundred office bearers had resigned collectively. In the resignation letter sent to the party’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the office-bearers had said that the way the organization is functioning at present, it seems that AAP has no future in Uttarakhand.
