Mussoorie-Nainital, Haridwar-Rishikesh all grapple with traffic woes over the weekend

As the heat increases in the plains, now tourists have started turning to the hills of Uttarakhand. Whether Nainital, Mussoorie or Chakrata, every hill station is full of tourists. On the other hand, the residents of Rishikesh and Haridwar are getting troubled due to jam on weekends.

Heavy jam on Haridwar-Delhi-Dehradun highway

Over the weekend in Haridwar, the highway was jammed due to the rush of devotees. There was heavy jam on Haridwar-Delhi-Dehradun highway on Sunday. Long queues of vehicles started from North Haridwar to Bahadarabad. Passengers were stranded in a jam of about seven kilometers in front of Har ki Pauri. It took them hours to cover a distance of a few kilometres. The situation was further worsened by heavy vehicles plying on the internal roads.

A large number of tourists reached the tourist destination Mussoorie on the weekend. Tourists thronged almost everywhere including the Mall Road. At the same time, a similar atmosphere was seen in Chakrata as well. The maximum crowd of tourists visited in Tiger Fall. In Nainital too the situation was no different and bumper to bumper traffic was seen in Nainital, Bhowali, Kainchi Dham etc.
