Bageshwar bypoll: 54.44% voting; results on September 8

Today i.e. on Tuesday, by-elections were held on seven assembly seats in six states of the country. Where the voting process has been completed on all the seats. Today was the first election test of ‘India’ Alliance against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) where many opposition parties formed an alliance and contested the elections together. These seats include Ghosi in Uttar Pradesh, Dumri in Jharkhand, Dhanpur and Boxanagar in Tripura along with Bageshwar seat in Uttarakhand. Not only this, the parties involved in the alliance are also contesting against each other in Dhupguri in West Bengal and Puthuppally in Kerala.

The by-election has been completed on Bageshwar assembly seat. According to the information received, a total of 55.44% voting took place in the by-election. The polling has been completed peacefully. Now the counting of votes will take place on 8 September. In the elections held in 2022 on Bageshwar Assembly seat, 57.83 percent votes were cast.

Voting was held today on the seat vacant after the death of Bageshwar MLA and Cabinet Minister Chandanram Das. After which counting of votes will now take place on 8th. On this seat, BJP has fielded late MLA’s wife Parvati Das, while Congress has given ticket to Basant Kumar. Five candidates are in the fray.

There was a lot of enthusiasm among the voters regarding voting

Kumaon Divisional Commissioner Deepak Rawat and IG Nilesh Bharne also inspected the election control room. Along with this, he took information related to voting. Selfie points were also made at polling stations. Where the voters also took photographs after casting their votes.
