IAS Radha Raturi becomes first woman Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand has got its first woman Chief Secretary today. The government has made IAS Radha Raturi the new Chief Secretary of the state. Its orders have been issued on Wednesday morning. The tenure of 1988 batch IAS officer Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu has ended today. He was given a six-month extension after retirement, which was completed today.

At the same time, the new Chief Secretary Raturi has also assumed charge. She expressed her priorities while talking to the media. She said that ‘the priority of the government at this time is to implement UCC. Our entire focus will be on that’. The expert committee formed for UCC will submit its report to the CM on February 2. The report will be placed before the cabinet on February 3. A special session of the state assembly will be held from February 5 to 8, where the UCC bill will be passed.
