The wait for rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand may end by second week of new year. There is a possibility of increase in cold due to rain and snowfall in the hilly areas on January 9. However, rain will provide relief from fog and freezing cold in the plains. Before this, the weather across the state will remain dry for the next three days from today.

The Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert for dense fog in Udham Singh Nagar today (Saturday) and a yellow alert for Haridwar district. Lack of winter rain and fog in the plains have been troubling for a long time. In such a situation, there are chances of getting relief from fog after the rain after January 9.

Meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal said, changes are being seen in the weather patterns. Last year too, delayed snowfall was seen in the high altitude areas. The main reason for this is increase in temperature.

Due to dry weather, day temperature is increasing and night temperature is falling. Formation of clouds is very important for rain to occur. But clouds are not forming in any area across the state right now. But there are chances of good rain in the coming days.
