Pushkar Kumbh started in Mana village, devotees took a holy dip

After 12 years, the Pushkar Kumbh has started with due rituals in Keshav Prayag located in Mana, a border village of Chamoli. Due to which the movement of a large number of pilgrims has increased in Mana village along with Badrinath Dham. The police administration along with the district administration has made strong arrangements for the convenience of the pilgrims here regarding the organization of Pushkar Kumbh.

District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that the pedestrian path has been improved for the Pushkar Kumbh organized in Keshav Prayag of Mana village. Sign boards in various languages ​​have been installed on the pedestrian path here for the convenience of the devotees. Along with this, police have been deployed on the pedestrian path for the smooth conduct of the Kumbh. At the same time, SDRF personnel have also been deployed on the Sangam coast. He said that the tehsil administration has been instructed to do regular monitoring to keep the arrangements smooth regarding the organization of Pushkar Kumbh.

Pushkar Kumbh is being organized after 12 years in Mana, a border village of Chamoli district. According to religious tradition, when Jupiter enters Gemini in 12 years, Pushkar Kumbh is organized in Keshav Prayag located at the confluence of Alaknanda and Saraswati rivers in Mana village. Vaishnav followers of South India mainly participate in this event.

What is the religious significance of Pushkar Kumbh

According to Hindu religious beliefs, Maharishi Vedvyas composed the Hindu epic Mahabharata while doing penance in Keshav Prayag located near Mana village. It is also said that the great Acharyas of South India Ramanujacharya and Madhavacharya received knowledge from Mother Saraswati at this place. Due to which, to preserve their mythological traditions, they reach Mana village located near Badrinath Dham and take bath in Keshav Prayag and worship.
