Rain wrecks havoc in Chamoli district

In Chamoli district, the weather changed after noon and due to heavy rains, the Mangrigad Gadera flowing near the city area overflowed. Four small vehicles parked near the Gadera were buried under the debris, while debris has accumulated outside a shop.
The debris of the Gadera had reached the bridge of Badrinath Highway. Due to which the movement of vehicles also stopped for about fifteen minutes. Drinking water lines of Ajay Nagar and Pipalkoti market area were also buried under the debris.
On Monday, rain started in Pipalkoti area at 3:15 pm. The rain intensified within no time. Due to heavy rains, the rainy Gadera Mangrigad near Pipalkoti market overflowed. A large amount of debris also came in the Gadera along with water, which reached the Badrinath Highway. Due to this, the movement of travel vehicles also stopped here for about fifteen minutes.
On the other hand, heavy rains wreaked havoc in Auli and Joshimath, the major tourist destinations of Uttarakhand. In Auli, it rained so heavily in just five minutes that water was visible everywhere. Water filled up everywhere on the ground and in some places, small puddles of water were created.
This rain has become a cause of trouble for the local people and tourists. Usually, the effect of heat is seen in the mountains in the month of May, but this time the mood of the weather has completely changed.
