Uttarakhand transport corporation to run additional buses ahead of festive season
If you’re traveling home for Diwali holidays and haven’t booked a train or bus seat online, you’re likely to face trouble. The waiting list for train reservations has surpassed 200, and online bus booking is already full.
Considering the situation, the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has prepared to operate 200 additional buses. The rush of people traveling home for Diwali will increase starting Friday evening, October 17th. Consequently, the seating situation could become increasingly difficult this time as well.
This Diwali, there are three consecutive days off. Choti Diwali is on Sunday, October 19th, followed by Diwali on Monday, October 21st. There will be a holiday for Govardhan on October 22nd, and Bhai Dooj, October 23rd, is a restricted holiday. Consequently, all government offices and most educational institutions will remain closed.
