Muhurat trading 2024: Stock market ends in green
On the occasion of Diwali, Samvat 2081 started with Muhurat trading. During this time, investors had a big reason to cheer. On Friday, in the special Muhurat trading session, the Sensex closed at 79,724.12, up 335.06 points or 0.42 percent. That is, the new Samvat started with a rise.
Stock markets Sensex and Nifty organized a special Muhurat trading session on Friday from 6 pm to 7 pm on the occasion of the beginning of the new Samvat year. In the last Samvat 2080, which ended on Thursday, the BSE Sensex jumped a total of 14,484.38 points or 22.31 percent. During this time, Nifty also registered a sharp rise of 4,780 points or 24.60 percent.
One hour trading session
During the last Samvat year, the wealth of investors increased by Rs 124.42 lakh crore to Rs 4,44,71,429.92 crore (US$ 5,290 billion). Muhurat trading is a symbolic one-hour trading session organized by the stock markets on the occasion of Diwali, which marks the beginning of the new Samvat year.
The Sensex opened with a rise in Muhurat trading and remained in the green throughout the session due to buying in banking, auto and oil and gas stocks. During this period, the Sensex touched a high of 80,023.75 and a low of 79,655.55. During Muhurat trading, the market cap in Sensex increased from Rs 444 lakh crore to Rs 448 lakh crore. That is, investors earned more than 4 lakh crore.
European stock market also rose
Among the sectoral indices, auto (1.15 percent), discretionary consumer goods (1.10 percent) and oil and gas (0.91 percent) saw significant gains. Meanwhile, global markets were mixed and European stocks rose in early trade. Most Asian markets closed with a decline.
