Stock market update: Sensex recovers over 750 points from day’s low

Today, on February 12, the Sensex recovered 783 points from the day’s low of 75,388. It closed at 76,171 with a decline of 122 points.

Nifty also saw a recovery of 247 points from the low of 22,798, it closed at 23,045 with a decline of 26 points.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 16 rose and 14 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 28 rose and 22 fell. The realty sector of the NSE sectoral index saw the highest decline of 2.74%.

Hexaware’s IPO opens today

Hexaware Technologies Limited’s Initial Public Offer i.e. IPO has opened for public subscription from today i.e. February 12. This IPO will close on February 14.

The company wants to raise ₹8,750 crore by selling 12.36 crore shares through this public issue. This will be the largest IPO ever in India’s IT services and enterprise tech segment.

So far, the largest IPO in the Indian IT sector was of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in the year 2002 of Rs 4,713 crore. This IPO is completely an Offer for Sale (OFS).

The market closed with a decline yesterday

Earlier yesterday i.e. on February 11, the Sensex closed at 76,293 with a decline of 1018 points (1.31%). Nifty also fell by 309 points (1.32%), it closed at 23,071. The market closed with a decline for the 5th consecutive trading day.

Nifty Realty fell the most by 3%. The media index also closed with a decline of 2.85%. At the same time, the index of auto, FMCG, pharma and public sector banks fell by about 2%. Metal and IT index closed down by about 1.50%.
