Stock market create new all time high
The share market has reached all time high today i.e. Thursday (May 23, 2024). Sensex has made a high of 75,499. Earlier, the high of Sensex was 75,124 which it made on April 9. Whereas Nifty touched the level of 22,993. The previous high of Nifty was 22,794.
However, the market came down slightly from the upper levels and the Sensex closed at 75,418 with a gain of 1196 points. Nifty also rose 354 points. It closed at the level of 22,952. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, only 3 stocks declined and 27 showed a rise.
The biggest rise in today’s business is in banking and auto stocks. Nifty’s Auto index closed with a gain of 2.25% and the Bank index closed with a gain of about 2.06%. IT and realty indices were up more than 1%. There was a decline in pharma. Pharma index closed down -0.52%.
Go Digit shares listed up by 5%
Shares of Go Digit General Insurance were listed at Rs 286, up 5.15% on NSE. Whereas on BSE it was listed at Rs 281.10, up 3.35%. Its issue price was Rs 272.
ITC’s Q4 FY 2024 profit down 4% to ₹5,120 crore
The profit of FMCG company ITC, which makes a range of products from cigarettes to soaps, in the fourth quarter (January-March) of the financial year 2024 declined by 4% on an annual basis (YoY) to ₹ 5120.55 crore. The company’s consolidated net profit in the same quarter a year ago was ₹5,335.23 crore.
The company has announced a final dividend of ₹ 7.50 paise per share for the financial year 2024. Companies give some part of the profits to their shareholders, it is called dividend. ITC released its fourth quarter and annual results today i.e. on 23 May.
