Registration for GATE 2025 exam starts today

Registration for GATE 2025 exam will start from today. IIT Roorkee will start the registration process for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2025) from Friday, 24 August. This exam is conducted for admission to post graduate engineering programs. Students who want to appear in the exam can apply through the official website gate2025.iitr.ac.in. This year also GATE exam will be for 30 subjects.

If a candidate fills more than one form for the exam, only one will be accepted. However, the fee paid for the remaining applications will not be refunded.

GATE 2025: Important Dates

Online application process start date: 24 August 2024

Last date for online application: 26 September 2024

Last date for online application with late fee: 7 October 2024

Last date for correction of personal details in online application form: 6 November 2024

GATE 2025 Exam Date: 1, 2, 15, 16 February 2025

GATE 2025 Result Date: 19 March 2025

When will the GATE exam be held

Exam will be conducted on 1, 2, 15 and 16 February 2025 at various examination centers across the country. The exam will be held in two shifts. The first shift exam will start at 9:30 am and will run till 12:30 pm. The second shift exam will start at 2:30 pm and will run till 5:30 pm.

Eligibility and age limit

There is no age limit to participate in GATE 2025. Talking about educational qualification, students of third or final year of graduation from a recognized institute or university or have completed a degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts / Humanities can apply for the exam.

Exam Pattern

According to the IIT Roorkee notification, there will be 30 exam papers in GATE 2025 exam. The exam papers will be in English. All questions will be objective. This exam will be of 3 hours. There will be three types of questions in this exam – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT). A question will have four options, with only one correct answer. The scorecard is valid for three years after the result is released.
