Badrinath-Kedarnath get first snowfall of the season

The first snowfall of the season occurred on the upper hills of Badrinath and Kedarnath. Since then, the cold has increased in the Dham. After the rain on Tuesday night, the first snowfall of the season was seen on the high peaks of the Dham this morning.

Apart from the high peaks of Badrinath Dham, snowfall has also occurred near Mana area. Monsoon is in its final stage in Uttarakhand. But before its departure, another spell of rains is expected in the hilly districts of the state.

The Meteorological Center has issued an orange and yellow alert of heavy to very heavy rain in the hilly districts of the state from 11 to 14 September. At the same time, meteorologists have given instructions to be cautious in sensitive areas during the day as well as at night.

According to the alert issued by the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of torrential rain in some areas of Haridwar, Uttarkashi and Tehri district today (Wednesday).

An orange alert has been issued for Bageshwar district of Kumaon division. There is also a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains with strong thunder. A yellow alert for heavy rains has been issued in some areas of Dehradun, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts.
