Haridwar: Cars washed away as water rises in river

With the onset of monsoon, the rainy season has also started in Uttarakhand. The water level of the Sukhi river suddenly increased after the rain in Haridwar on Saturday afternoon. Many cars were washed away in the river due to the rising water level of the Sukhi river which ultimately meets the Ganga.

A huge crowd of people gathered to see the cars floating in the Ganga river. However, the matter of relief was that there was no loss of life or property reported due to the cars floating in the river. The cars that were swept away were stuck at the Khadkhadi Ghat after the river overflowed.

The weather took a turn once again in Haridwar on Saturday afternoon. People definitely got some relief from the heat due to heavy rains across the city in the afternoon. But, along with the rain, the problems of the people also increased. Many cars parked at the Kharkhadi crematorium were washed away due to the rising water level of the river.

On the other hand, the problems of the people also increased due to heavy rains. People had to face the problem of waterlogging in many colonies and the roads were seen submerged. After the rain, people faced problems due to rainwater entering their houses.
