Sports Minister inaugurates Youth U-18 National Kabaddi Championship 2025 in Haridwar

Sports Minister Rekha Arya inaugurated the first Youth Under-18 National Kabaddi Championship 2025 in Haridwar on Saturday (June 29). In this competition, teams from 27 states and union territories are participating in the boys category and 26 in the girls category. Inaugurating the competition at Prem Nagar Ashram Auditorium in Haridwar, Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that one or two national level sports competitions are being organized every week in Uttarakhand. It is clear from this that Uttarakhand is moving very fast towards becoming a sports land.

She said that along with making India a developed country, India has to be made a super power in the sports world and Uttarakhand is going to play a big role in this. Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that if the players engage in their sport with dedication, discipline and will power, they will get everything – name, money, career. She said that during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, traditional sports of the country are also being promoted and recently we organized the first World Cup of traditional Indian sport Kho Kho. The minister said that preparations are underway to host the 2036 Olympics in India and it is hoped that Indian traditional games will also find a place in it.
