The Delhi government has given a gift to lakhs of workers and employees before Diwali. Delhi’s new Chief Minister Atishi has announced an increase in the minimum wage. After this, the minimum wage of unskilled workers has now become Rs 18,066, which was earlier Rs 17,494. The minimum wage of semi-skilled workers has now become Rs 19,929, which was earlier Rs 19,279. Similarly, the minimum wage of skilled workers has become Rs 21,917, which was earlier Rs 21,215.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said, ‘If you look at the minimum wages across the country, the highest minimum wages have been given in the Arvind Kejriwal government. To stop the exploitation of poor people, the Delhi government has taken the minimum wage to a historic level. The BJP has always worked against the poor and we can see it in two ways.’

‘The first time when the Arvind Kejriwal government talked about increasing the minimum wage in 2016-2017, the BJP stopped us through its Lieutenant Governor. Then the Delhi government brought an order from the court to increase the minimum wage. The BJP strongly opposed it.

As always, the Arvind Kejriwal government fought and brought a decision in favor of the common people of Delhi. If you look at the BJP-ruled states, there the minimum wage is probably half of what it is in Delhi. The BJP not only gives less wages in its states but also makes every effort to stop it in Delhi. We are increasing the minimum wage.’
