Fearing investigation, businessman jumps to death in New Delhi

A jewelry businessman in New Delhi succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday by jumping from the upper floor of the office of Director of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) office to avoid the investigation. The DRI had called the businessman for questioning in the gold smuggling case. Police identified the deceased businessman as Gaurav Gupta, 40. At present the police has sent the body to the postmortem in possession.

It was revealed that police a raid was conducted in three warehouses in Shalimar bagh area after receiving information. During this raid campaign, the team of DRI recovered from Gaurav Gupta’s house six kg of gold mark and 213 kg of silver.
