Even though engineering, management and technical institutes claim 100 per cent placement, but the number of such students in the country who get job offers in campus placement is less than 60 per cent. Union Minister Satyapal Singh has given this information. Answering the written question in the Lok Sabha, Satyapal Singh gavethis information.

Singh said in his reply, “According to the placement data of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the average campus placement of graduate students from management, technical and engineering institutions has not reached even 60 per cent.”

He also informed that in order to give 100% placement to the graduates, AICTE has prepared an industry-based curriculum for the UG and PG level courses in engineering and management programs. At the same time, he said that the institutions are now being made more accountable for internship and employment of the students.
It is worth noting that recently Microsoft had given the highest salary package of 1.5 million in the campus placement process, and the second place was cab company Uber which offered a package of more than 10 million packages to IIT students.
