Plane with 242 onboard crashes in Ahmedabad

An Air India’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner plane has crashed at Ahmedabad Airport in Gujarat. As per reports, there were 242 passengers on board the plane. The flight was flying to London when it crashed.

DGCA said that Air India’s B787 Dreamliner aircraft, flying from Ahmedabad to London (Gatwick) Airport, crashed 5 minutes after takeoff at 01:38 pm on 12 June.
The plane gave a ‘Mayday’ call immediately after takeoff
According to ATC, the plane took off from runway 23 of Ahmedabad airport at 01:38 pm Indian time (UTC 08:08). Immediately after takeoff, the plane gave a ‘Mayday’ call, but after this, none of the calls made by ATC were answered by the plane. DGCA said that the plane fell to the ground outside the airport boundary immediately after takeoff from runway 23. Heavy clouds of black smoke were seen rising from the spot. The Boeing plane was seen losing altitude rapidly and it crashed.
The plane crashed in Meghani Nagar near Ahmedabad Airport. After the Air India plane crash, black smoke spread in the sky and there was chaos all around. At present, rescue work is going on. After this incident, the concerned officials are reaching the spot. At the same time, statements of leaders are also coming on this accident. As soon as the information about this accident was received, the Ahmedabad Fire Brigade team reached the spot.
