Kainchi Dham fair to be held on June 15; area to be divided into 7 zones for traffic management

On Monday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami discussed the preparations for the annual Kainchi Dham fair to be held on June 15 in a review meeting through video conferencing with DIG Yogendra Rautela, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena and other police officers.

He said that this year the crowd of devotees is likely to be more than last year. In such a situation, along with maintaining peace in the fair premises, other arrangements should be started from now. Traffic plan and other preparations should be completed immediately to go to the temple. He directed to make proper arrangements for parking arrangements and stay of tourists at Kainchi Dham.

The SSP said that a meeting has been held in the presence of the District Magistrate regarding the preparations for the fair. After which the police has started making law and order and traffic plan. On June 15, the area from Garampani to Bhimtal will be divided into seven sectors. About 300 vehicles will be deployed for shuttle service.

The movement of heavy vehicles from Bhimtal to Kainchi Dham will be restricted on June 14 and 15. Other preparations including the demand for force have been started. The preparations will be finalized by holding another meeting next month.

Need to build small parking lots

In the review meeting, Commissioner Deepak Rawat told the CM that more than 25 thousand pilgrims visited Kainchi Dham last weekend. There is a need to build small parking lots around Kainchi Dham. Preparations for the fair have begun.

Temporary parking lots have been built in many areas including Naini bend Sanatorium Bypass, near the mosque, Palika Maidan, Jal Sansthan. Along with this, facilities like drinking water, electricity, health camps etc. will also be provided.

The commissioner also told that many devotees pass through Nainital district for Chardham. There is a provision of home stay from Bhawali to Ranikhet etc., but there is no provision of home stay, rain shelter in some areas including Chaukhutia-Gairsain.
