State’s first rooftop helipad is soon going to be built at Kainchi Dham

The state’s first rooftop helipad is going to be built soon at Kainchi Dham. This helipad, which will be built at a cost of about Rs 40 crore, will promote pilgrimage and tourism in the Kumaon region. Along with the helipad, a three-storey parking, beautification, lighting and faith path route will also be constructed here.

Helicopters will soon fly from Kainchi Dham in Nainital district, one of the famous religious places of the country. Verbal approval has been received from the government to build a helipad at Kainchi Dham. A three-storey parking and a helipad will be built on its roof at a cost of about Rs 40 crore.

The arrangements for beautification, lighting and faith path route will be improved in the temple. A one-way route will be constructed from the rear side of the temple to control the crowd of devotees here.

Under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, included in the dream project of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Tourism Department is rapidly taking steps to beautify important religious places with a view to promote pilgrimage and tourism in Kumaon.

Out of the 16 temples of Kumaon included in this mission in the year 2024, a budget of about Rs 44 crore has been released in the first phase for nine and construction is also going on in many temples. In the second phase, the work of beautifying the remaining temples will start. In the first phase, Jageshwar Dham, Baijnath, Naina Devi, Kainchi Dham, Patal Rudreshwar, Patal Bhuvaneshwar, Hatkalika Temple, Maa Barahi Devi, Nanda Devi Temple have been included.

Construction work in all 16 temples is expected to be done at a cost of about Rs 106 crore. The Tourism Department had started the work of finding a place to build a helipad in Kainchi Dham during the launch of this scheme.

About 436 vehicles will be able to be parked in the three-storey parking to be built in Kainchi Dham. This will provide relief to the people from the daily traffic jam on the Almora-Bhowali main road outside the temple. The Tourism Department has given the responsibility of construction in all the temples to the Public Works Department.
