There was a terrible accident in Uttarakhand. A bus in Gholtir on Badrinath National Highway fell into the Alaknanda River. As per reports, a total of 20 people including the driver were aboard the bus. The death of 3 passengers is reported.
According to eyewitnesses, 10 people were stuck on the hill during the bus accident. 3 pilgrims have died. Search was on for the remaining 9 people. Relief and rescue teams reached the spot. The accident occurred when a bus went uncontrolled near Gholatir on Badrinath National Highway and fell into the Alaknanda River. This bus was going towards Badrinath Dham with pilgrims.
As soon as the accident was reported, the police force from Gholatir police post and SDRF team from Rudraprayag reached the spot and started the rescue campaign. The strong current of the river remains a challenge in relief and rescue operations. The rescue team is constantly trying. Local villagers also supported relief and rescue operations.
