Dhoni inducted into ICC’s Hall of Fame

Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been inducted into the Hall of Fame by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The ICC announced this on Monday, June 9.

Dhoni has become the 11th Indian player to receive this honor. ICC said about Dhoni’s career, “17,266 international runs, 829 wickets and 538 matches… these figures are proof of not only his talent but also his consistency, fitness and long career.”

At the same time, Dhoni reacted to this honor and said, “It is a great honor to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame. It is a matter of pride for me to see my name in the list of legendary players from all over the world. I will always cherish this moment.”

5 male and 2 female cricketers included in the list

A total of 7 players have been included in the Hall of Fame 2025 list by ICC. These include 5 male and 2 female players. Among the male players, Hashim Amla of South Africa, Mahendra Singh Dhoni of India, Matthew Hayden of Australia, Graeme Smith of South Africa and Daniel Vettori of New Zealand are included.

On the other hand, among the female cricketers, Sana Mir of Pakistan and Sarah Taylor of England have received this honor.

The only Indian captain to win all three ICC trophies

Dhoni is the only Indian captain till date who has won all three ICC trophies for India – 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. Under his leadership, India also became the number-1 team in Tests. Although he retired from international cricket on 15 August 2020, he is still playing in the IPL.
