Olympics 2024: Lakshya Sen reaches semi-finals in Badminton

Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen defeated Chou Tien-chen in 3 high octane games to reach the semi-finals in Badminton singles at the Paris Olympics 2024. Lakshya defeated his opponent of Chinese Taipei 19-21, 21-15, 21-12 in badminton men’s singles. Lakshya has become the first Indian player to reach the semi-finals of badminton men’s singles in the history of Olympics. Now Lakshya is just one step away from ensuring a medal for the country.

High octane quarterfinal

Sen played well in the first game, but Chen dominated and won the game 11-9 by half-time and then 21-19. Sen made a strong comeback in the second game and in an interesting match, he was ahead 11-10 by half-time. After this, he turned the whole game around and won the second game 21-15. In the third game, Sen did not give any chance to the higher ranked player and won 21-12.

Playing in his first Olympics, the 22 year old from Almora has already defeated world number 3 Jonatan Christie in the group stage and countryman HS Prannoy in the round of 16.
