Team India will tour England in June next year for a 5-match Test series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released its schedule on Thursday, 22 August. The Test series will start from June 20, 2025. With this, the Indian team will start the 2025-27 cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC).

India’s tour of England will start in June and will run till August

The Test series between India and England will start in June next year and will run till August. The first Test will be played at Headingley from June 20, the second Test at Edgbaston from July 2, the third Test at Lord’s from July 10, the fourth Test at Old Trafford from July 23 and the fifth Test at The Oval ground in London from July 31 to August 4.

Last won the series in England in 2007

Team India last won a Test series on England soil in the year 2007. Where under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid, the Indian team won the 3-match series 1-0. The first and last match of this series was a draw. While in the second match played in Nottingham, the Indian team won by 7 wickets.

2-1 lead was gained under Virat’s captaincy

Team India has not been able to win a Test series on England soil for 17 years. On the last tour, the Indian team had gained a 2-1 lead under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. The last match of the series was rescheduled due to Covid-19. After this, England equaled the series 2-2 by winning the last match of the series held in 2022.
