World T20 2024: Team India makes winning start in Super 8’s

Team India secured a fourth victory on the trot in the T20 World Cup 2024. After a successful campaign in New York, Team India also started the Super-8 with a win. India has registered a spectacular victory over Afghanistan by 47 runs. At the beginning of the match, Afghanistan bowlers put up a great fight to contain Rohit and company. But Afghanistan did not have the answer to India’s Mr 360 Surya Kumar Yadav and spearhead Jasprit Bumrah’s deadly bowling.

In the match against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Hitman failed in batting and lost his wicket for just 8 runs. He scored 53 runs in 28 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 5 fours. He was supported by Hardik Pandya. He played a brilliant innings of 32 runs.

Afghanistan’s bowling was excellent. Fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi who currently is the leading wicket taker in the tournament sent valuable players like Rohit, Surya and Jadeja to the pavilion. At the same time, Rashid Khan took the wickets of a total of 3 batsmen including Virat. On the strength of Surya and Hardik’s partnership, Team India put 181 runs on the scoreboard. In response, Afghanistan’s batting proved could not stand in front of India’s lethal bowling.

Jasprit ‘unplayable’ Bumrah

While, Jadeja and Akshar Patel took 1-1 wickets. The entire Afghanistan team was bundled out for 134 runs.
