Truecaller rolls back latest update after bug linked UPI without user consent

Many users have complained about the fact that without their permission the True Caller is signing them up for their UPI Payment Service Truecaller Pay. After the users complained, the company issued a statement saying in its defense that a bug in the latest version of the app has been found which is affecting the payment feature.

True Caller further stated that this is a bug and we have discontinued this version of the app so that other users will no longer be affected by this problem. The company apologized and said that this version has not passed our quality standard. After the complaint received from users, the company issued a new version immediately after taking action, in which the problem has been fixed.

For the users affected by this problem, the new version has been released with fixes and you will also get an update soon. Until the update is received, users can re-register by going to the menu section of the app. Twitter user tagged this morning with True Caller and the company’s officials told that in the phone they got a text message that True Caller tried to register with their bank account for their payment service.

Since there is a need to manually enter the UPI PIN and other information for the complete setup, no such registration has been completed. But still the user received the message that your registration for the UPI app has started, if you did not do this, then inform the bank about this. After receiving the message, the users complained about this problem on Twitter.
